Antennas and Microwave Engineering Laboratory (AM-LAB)
Focus/Vision
The Antennas and Microwave Engineering Laboratory (AM-LAB) focuses on the design of electromagnetic structures such as antennas and RF/microwave/mm-wave circuits and systems. The Lab also provides the necessary support for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electromagnetics, Antenna design and Microwave Engineering. It offers analysis and simulation of various components and devices to comprehend the basics of RF and Microwave Engineering to boost the quality of education, deepen understanding and provide the necessary practical tools for students.
Research Activities
- Antenna systems design using HFSS, CST and related tools for undergraduate course works and final year project works.
- Microwave circuit design using ADS software and related tools for students in Microwaves course and final year project works in Microwave circuit designs.
- Perform design, simulation and optimization of small printed antennas and microwave systems for staff research.
- Hold weekly/biweekly meetings between lecturers and students on progress of projects
- carry out measurements of devices with solicited partners
- Publish works on designed projects
